Considering Capricorns

Many of us are interested in astrology these days. If you're like me, the attributes of sun signs can get a bit jumbled up at times. Was it the Gemini's who communicate well or was it Aquarians? Was it Leos that are full are energy or was it Capricorns? Thus, out of concern for my failing memory, I thought it would be nice to have a quick reference handy on the site. Especially since Ocean Moonstone delivers so many wonderful astrology articles! Capricorns were having birthdays when I started this project and so they will be the first in the series.

Here are a few basic characteristics of our Capricorn friends:

Capricorn is a feminine Earth sign full of Cardinal Energy. These folks are loyal, ambitious, dedicated, focused, honest, disciplined, logical, patient, kind, serious, and attentive. There's even evidence that people born under the Capricorn sun sign have the fewest automobile accidents! (See the astrology forum for more information.) But with discipline can come stubborness. Capricorn's attentiveness can become controlling and possessive. His patience may turn into anxiety and his logic may lead him into suspicion and pessimism.

Nevertheless, Capricorn loves making long-term relationship plans. He requires financially stable and craves that feeling of security. He dislikes indecisiveness, can't stand ego displays, and simply will not tolerate crudeness. The three most important goals of a Capricorn are security, respect, and authority.

Capricorns spend their youths working to grow their bodies into their "rightful" age. They are born wiht minds that will them to function independently and under their own control. "Let's skip all that boring baby stuff and get out and start earning money and being in control" they seem to say. As they get older and more comfortable in their bodies, they seem to loosen up and their playful side sneaks out periodically.

Underneath their dependable, seemingly dry exterior, a warm heart and caring nature is fiercely guarded. Compliments seem to be ignored or go unheard. He's much too serious to be distracted by a compliment, his face seems to say. Yet, Capricorn will replay that compliment all day in his head, secretly pleased and warmed by those kind words. Saturn rules Capricorn and Saturn's influence in here keeps the Capricorn's earthy sensuality trapped in a desire to do and say the right thing. Because he is so caught up in doing "it" right, his worry can lead to anxiety.

When meditating, Capricorn's should remember that the musical healing meditation note is F sharp. When engaging in aromatherapy, including cypress, honeysuckle, lilac, mimosa, myrrh, patchouli, tonka, tuplip, and vetiver can be very beneficial.

Should you have a Capricorn on your gift-giving list, consider first the practical and sturdy items. Things that last forever. Look for quality, but avoid brand names. Your Capricorn will love a gift that has obiviously taken a lot of time and patience to create since he recognizes the effort and dedication required.
